Gillingham High Street

Gillingham is well known for being the home of Gillingham FC. The stadium can be found just off of the High Street, which is the dwelling of a bi-weekly market as well as a number of shops and restaurants.

The market, which has around 50 different stalls, is open Mondays and Saturdays from 9am until 4.30pm. This general retail market has become a popular attraction in the High Street.

The shops within the High Street itself are mostly well-known brands such as New Look, Somerfield and Boots. It also has plenty of clothes shops and, whilst you won’t be able to get yourself something of the quality of a tailored suit on Savile Row, you will certainly be able to get something that’s very nice!

There are also a large number of restaurants and cafes in and around the High Street and are incredibly handy if you need a little respite from shopping.

There are many small and relatively cheap car parks in the area and the recently refurbished Gillingham Train Station is on the end of the High Street making access simple.

There are loads of attractions nearby such as the Royal Engineers Museum, Medway Park and The Strand.

And if you want to stay in the area a little longer then located all around Gillingham are a variety of established hotels including The King Charles on Brompton Road.
